Win #7 Comes at the Wilmot Raceway

Bristol, WI – July 10, 2013. After a strong showing with the World of Outlaws the week prior, Bill and the B2 Motorsports team were back in action with the Interstate Racing Association this past weekend as they headed to the Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, WI. With a well prepared track at the third-mile clay oval, the times would get faster as each competitor qualified which would play into the “Northpole Nightmare’s” hands as he was the third from last of the thirty-three cars on hand and would lay down the fastest time of the night. Lining up in the 6th starting position of the first heat race, Bill would quickly make his way into the 2nd position, but would have his work cut out for him to catch leader, Jeremy Schultz, who raced his way to a sizable lead. About halfway through Bill caught a break when the leader nearly looped his machine in turn two allowing the 17B sprinter to catch right up to the tail of the 5J machine. The two top point gainers of the IRA dueled it out for the remaining laps as Bill would finish in the 2nd position. Bill would draw the #3 pill for the feature invert setting him up with a 6th place starting position for the 30 feature. At the drop of the green flag, Bill would move the 17B machine into the 4th position where the leader to Bill could be thrown under a blanket as the four sprinters raced for the top spot. Bill made his way into the 3rd position around the halfway point as the top 3 were still within striking distance of each other. Bill would dive under the #83 of Tommy Sexton around lap twenty and would stalk the #8A of Nick Alden now. On lap twenty-four, Alden would bobble in turn two allowing Bill to charge into turn three and into the lead before the caution would fly on lap twenty-six. When the green flag was back out Bill and the 17B sprinter set sail as they cruised the final four laps to a near straightaway lead as the checkered flag flew over Sexton and Alden to pick up his 7th feature victory of the 2013 season.

This Friday, July 12th, Bill and the B2 Motorsports team will make their way to the “Horsepower Half-Mile” of the Dodge County Fairgrounds in Beaver Dam, WI for the annual Rick Schmidt Memorial. The last visit to the track, last year’s IRA season finale, saw a three-way battle for the win between Bill, Mike Kertscher, and Scotty Nietzel with Bill ending up 2nd behind the #80K. The following night, Saturday, July 13th, the rig will head north to the Rice Lake Speedway in Rice Lake, WI to race in front of Bill’s friends and family. Last year’s race was a thriller as Bill would charge from the 10th starting position to win in front of his hometown crowd.
